About the TeamThe State & Local Government Technical Consulting team is part of Workday’s Global Professional Services organization. We focus on the Data Conversion, Integration, and Reporting work streams for implementation projects in the public sector, guiding customers through complex deployments with leadership and technical expertise.
About the RoleSenior Technical Consultants design, develop, and deploy integration solutions for government customers. You will lead integration work streams, manage delivery, and ensure that projects meet schedule, quality, and customer success goals.
Responsibilities- Lead and project manage integration work streams, driving delivery dates and results.
- Conduct discovery sessions to capture and document customers’ integration requirements.
- Design, develop, and implement integrations using Workday tooling (Studio, Orchestrator) and other integration technologies.
- Coordinate testing, troubleshoot issues, and provide knowledge transfer sessions for post‑production success.
- Participate in internal initiatives to improve processes and methodologies.
- Senior Technical Consultant – Minimum 4years of Experience with Workday Integrations;alternate paths: 6+years in HR, Payroll, Financials, Integrations, or Reporting within a public‑sector setting plus 3+years technical experience, or 6+years ownership of integration work streams.
- Principal Technical Consultant – Minimum 8years of experience with Workday Integrations;alternate paths: 10+years in HR, Payroll, Financials, Integrations, or Reporting within public sector plus 5+years technical experience, or 10+years ownership of integration work streams.
- Advanced skills in designing, developing, and deploying integration solutions—including Workday Studio and Orchestrator.
- Comprehensive understanding of the full implementation lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and production.
- Exceptional solution design, analytical thinking, and the ability to optimize resources through technology.
- Strong influencing and persuasive communication skills; ability to collaborate with stakeholders and drive consensus.
- Demonstrated learning agility and the capacity to adapt quickly to new challenges.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Commitment to a flexible work schedule, with a target of at least 50% in‑office quarterly.
