Staff Engineer, Product Software

Works with product teams, analysts, and other engineers to design systems and application software, and mentor junior members of the team.

• Design, develop and support software products and solutions.
• Develop unit test plans, test suites, and perform tests on software solutions.
• Integrate software product(s) with other systems, test interfaces, and manage version control.
• Interact with stakeholders to understand and document product features.
• Resolve bugs, engage in troubleshooting, and collaborate with the internal developer community.
• Assist in analysis and evaluation of new technologies to meet product roadmap and technology platform goals.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies for product features and platform.
• Advocate and follow best design and development practices adhering to engineering standards.
• Act as a self‑starter, collaborate in a team, and communicate effectively.
• Participate in design and peer code review processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in Java and the Java Spring framework.
• Solid understanding of OSI layers and networking concepts.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts.
• Experience with REST API development.
• Experience with messaging services such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with relational and/or No
  
  SQL databases.
• Hands‑on experience with public cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker and virtualization technologies.
• Agile‑Scrum methodology experience.
• Dev Ops and CI/CD experience and knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills.

Targeted pay range for this position in San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $128,000 to $211,000 per year.
