** Description*
* Leidos is seeking a  
** Junior Software Engineer
** to support the CDC Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) Prevention Research Synthesis (PRS) Web application and related data modernization initiatives. This role provides application development, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and enhancement support for an existing Microsoft-based web platform while contributing to the incremental modernization of legacy analytical and reporting environments. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers, architects, analysts, and stakeholders to maintain operational continuity while supporting future migration and modernization efforts.

* Primary Responsibilities:

*
* + Support maintenance, enhancement, testing, deployment, and sustainment of the PRS Web application.

+ Develop and maintain application components, scripts, APIs, automation solutions, and data processing workflows.

+ Participate in requirements analysis, technical design, code reviews, testing, and implementation activities.

+ Troubleshoot software defects, system issues, and user-reported problems and support resolution efforts.

+ Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and support materials.

+ Support analysis and evaluation of modernization opportunities for legacy applications, analytical workflows, and reporting environments.

+ Assist with migration planning, proof-of-concept development, and implementation of modernization initiatives under the guidance of senior engineers and architects.

+ Collaborate with software developers, data engineers, analysts, and program stakeholders to support surveillance, reporting, and public health operations.

+ Follow established software engineering, security, Dev Sec Ops , and quality assurance practices.

** Basic Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related discipline with 1-3 years of software development experience.

+

Experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or similar web development technologies.

+ Familiarity with relational databases and Microsoft SQL Server.

+ Experience supporting web applications, troubleshooting issues, and implementing enhancements.

+ Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies and version control systems.

+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

+ Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new technologies and development frameworks.

+ Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.

* Preferred Qualifications:

* + Experience supporting CDC, HHS, or other federal agencies.

+ Experience supporting legacy application modernization initiatives.

+ Familiarity with the PRS Web technology stack, including Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC, Visual C#, SQL Server, JavaScript, jQuery, Kendo UI, HTML5, and CSS

+ Familiarity with Azure, Databricks, EDAV, 1

CDP, Python, R, or other modern analytics environments.

+ Experience supporting public health, healthcare, research, analytics, or reporting systems.

+ Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and Dev Sec Ops  practices.

+ Experience supporting surveillance, data management, reporting, or modernization initiatives.

** Preferred

Certifications:

* Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900);
Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900);
Microsoft Certified:
Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204);
Databricks Fundamentals; or equivalent certifications.

** Work Location and Travel:*
* This position is primarily remote and open to candidates nationwide. Atlanta-area candidates are preferred to attend occasional in-person meetings or collaboration activities at CDC facilities.
