Platform Architect and Engineering Lead
As a cloud computing application architect, you will design and implement secure, scalable, modern cloud solutions supporting Public Health data modernization initiatives. You will use the latest cloud technologies to enhance our client’s environment and lead technical teams, collaborating with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders.
You will recommend tools and solutions after researching current environments, guide teams in overcoming complex cloud challenges, and broaden your skill set in automation, cloud‑based security, and modern Dev Ops practices to advance national Public Health outcomes.
You Have:- 7+ years of experience with software implementation, design, solution, application, or technical architecture
- 7+ years of experience with software development using languages such as Python, Dotnet, or Java
- Experience leading technical teams of 20+ engineers and being client‑facing
- Experience architecting and deploying solutions in AWS and hybrid cloud environments, developing secure, cloud‑based architectures, and adhering to engineering and cloud governance standards
- Experience deploying and troubleshooting IaaS environments and Linux or Unix‑based systems, including shell scripting
- Experience with Gen‑AI tools, such as Git Hub Copilot, Codex, or Claude Code
- Ability to be hands‑on and drive projects forward while keeping releases on track
- Ability to navigate competing priorities, discern technical solutions, and communicate with stakeholders
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience optimizing cloud cost management and implementing governance frameworks
- Experience with public health field processes and data modernization efforts, and federal IT environments
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Cloud certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional Certification, or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification
