Software Development Engineer in Test

Our client, a fast-growing SaaS company, is hiring a Senior SDET to lead test automation strategy across their product suite. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who blends strong software development skills with a quality-first mindset — someone who can design scalable automation frameworks, build AI-assisted testing capabilities, and drive quality engineering practices across the org. Playwright expertise and practical experience applying AI/ML to testing (test generation, self-healing tests, intelligent triage, etc.)

are required.

The role requires a hybrid schedule - 3 days onsite and 2 days remote in the Marietta area.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and own end-to-end test automation frameworks using Playwright for web application testing.
• Integrate AI-driven tooling into the QA pipeline — e.g., AI-assisted test case generation, self-healing locators, visual regression, anomaly detection, or intelligent test prioritization.
• Partner with engineering, product, and Dev Ops to embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and shift-left quality practices.
• Architect and maintain scalable, maintainable test suites (UI, API, integration, regression) with an eye toward speed and reliability.
• Identify coverage gaps, flaky tests, and automation ROI opportunities; continuously improve test infrastructure and reporting.
• Mentor junior SDETs/QA engineers and help set best practices for automation, code review, and test strategy.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define quality metrics and drive a culture of engineering-owned quality.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as an SDET, QA/Test Automation Engineer, or Software Engineer in Test, with demonstrated ownership of automation strategy.
• Strong, hands-on experience with Playwright (required) for web UI automation; comfort building frameworks from scratch, not just writing tests against one.
• Practical experience applying AI/ML tools or techniques to software testing (e.g., AI test generation tools, LLM-based test authoring, intelligent test selection, visual AI comparison tools).
• Experience testing SaaS/cloud-based applications, including API testing (REST/GraphQL) and CI/CD integration (Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and modern Dev Ops/quality practices (shift-left testing, test data management, containerized test environments).
• Excellent communication skills and comfort operating with autonomy in a fast-paced, product-driven SaaS environment.
