To be successful in this role you will be a strong team-player with an entrepreneurial mindset, strong analytical skills, and a bias toward shipping value in small, validated increments . In addition, the successful candidate will have strong project management skills, strong engineering depth, and experience leveraging an AI-first mindset across end-to-end development workflows.

Direct software development projects; develop and implement efficient, clean code with assigned team that satisfies customer requirements. All accomplished with an AI first mindset. Not only to write the code but for end to end development.

Manage team with regards to task assignments, work arrangements and other Software Development Department expectations .

Ensure work progress stays on schedule and update stakeholders on project status .

Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and a direct-report UX designers to define, design, and ship features across the Altitude platform .

Perform Test-Driven and Security-Driven Development .

Conduct comprehensive testing and code reviews to ensure that code quality is maximized and best-practices are followed .

Participate in development of prototypes, minimum viable products and PoCs .

Appropriately document system design and architecture such that it is easy to understand, maintain and extend .

Provide expert project-leadership and guidance to the team as a SME .

Oversee the activities and performance of direct reports: provide direction, coaching and mentorship; engage in team development, feedback, and training opportunities; collaborate during performance management, meeting KPAs, and career development planning .

Support Geotab global strategic initiatives and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule (if applicable) .

Consistently demonstrate Geotab’s Core Values in all daily work and interactions, and contribute to/maintain the departmental Wiki .

Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field .

4+ years experience as a Software Developer using object-oriented programming to build scalable applications .

Leadership experience in a team-oriented workplace, including success with coaching, development, and performance management of direct reports .

Experience managing or providing direction to a UX designer or design function, including reviewing prototypes and giving meaningful design feedback .

Technical proficiency with Google Big…
