AI Engineer (Applied/Software), Software Architect
We're hiring for a company that has product-market fit and is now building the agentic platform layer to scale it. The product itself is AI-native; this isn't AI bolted onto an existing system, it's the core of what's being built. You'd be working at the frontier of agentic systems, not integrating a chatbot into a legacy stack. This is a genuine opportunity to shape that product from an early stage, with real, hands-on ownership over technical direction: the decisions you make about architecture, tooling, and how the platform works aren't handed down from someone else's roadmap - you're the one setting it.
Revenue is already past their annual target, they have a portfolio paying customers, and demand currently exceeds delivery capacity with no outbound sales. Backed by investors who are increasing their position in a round closing toward year-end. The company is past the stage of proving the business works.
We're specifically looking for people who are passionate about AI, and who have already built a platform from scratch or heavily refactored one, touching security, infra, and architecture rather than staying in one lane - and are ready to do it again.
Responsibilities Platform & Delivery- Review existing internal and client builds and identify what should become a reusable, modular platform capability
- Own production hardening, security, and infrastructure architecture decisions
- Split time between client delivery and internal platform work - the scope is deliberately broad, not a single product roadmap
- Support solution design on larger client opportunities
- Act as senior technical mentor to junior engineers - reviewing specs, unblocking active builds, raising the bar on production judgement
- Work within a small, senior technical team
- Move into engineering leadership over time if that's the right fit for you - this is not being sold as a management track
- Platform background, not a purely Dev Ops profile
- Has shipped to production and carried the pager when it broke
- Broad experience across platform engineering, security, Dev Ops/infrastructure, and architecture
- Has built a platform from scratch or heavily refactored one
- Actively builds with AI outside of work - personal agents, tools, experiments - and follows new models and tooling closely
- Has formed real opinions on AI models, tooling, agentic coding, build management, and multi-agent workflows through direct use
- Has shipped AI/agent work commercially, not only in personal projects
- Deep Azure experience, particularly deploying and maintaining production environments
- Background at a pre-PMF startup, or post-acquisition and looking to build again
- Track record of moving from strong senior engineer into staff-level scope
- History of covering multiple technical areas rather than staying in a narrow specialty
