Export Coordinator (Temp to Hire)

Location: Atlanta, GA 30339
Schedule: Hybrid - 2 days onsite / 3 days remote
Pay Rate: $24/hour

Our client, a leader in the chemical distribution industry, is seeking an Export Coordinator, on a temp to hire basis, to join their Customer Operations team. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end logistics and export coordination for assigned customer accounts, ensuring seamless order processing, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery for both domestic and international shipments.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with export documentation, SAP order management, and logistics execution, along with the ability to build strong customer relationships in a fast-paced supply chain environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary logistics account manager for assigned customers, overseeing the complete order-to-delivery lifecycle
• Act as the main point of contact for customers, collaborating with logistics providers, planning/manufacturing teams, and finance to ensure smooth operations
• Create, update, and manage sales orders and contracts in SAP across multiple business units
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments in alignment with customer requirements, delivery schedules, and compliance standards
• Prepare, review, and manage export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, and related shipping documents
• Ensure compliance with export regulations, INCOTERMS, and international trade requirements
• Monitor shipments daily to proactively address potential delays or service disruptions
• Manage invoicing for export and prepaid customers in partnership with billing and finance teams
• Provide timely shipment updates and resolve issues via professional phone and email communication
• Identify operational risks and implement effective solutions using established processes and sound judgment
• Support KPI performance metrics and maintain high levels of data accuracy in a high-volume environment
• Manage delivery changes, urgent requests, and customer exceptions
• Provide leadership support within assigned segments, including coverage during management absences
• Mentor team members and assist in onboarding and training related to logistics and customer operations
• Serve as a subject matter expert for logistics processes, export procedures, and SAP transactions
• Participate in special projects and provide occasional after-hours or on-call support as needed

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in Logistics Account Management, Customer Operations, or Supply Chain-related roles
• Required experience with export documentation; strong knowledge of INCOTERMS preferred
• Background in international shipping and cross-border logistics
• Strong SAP experience, particularly SAP SD, including sales order processing, logistics execution, and billing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Excellent customer-facing, interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities effectively
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative team contributor
