Paratransit Operations Manager

Transdev in Marietta, GA is hiring a Paratransit Operations Manager. Our Paratransit Operations Manager ensures the Dispatch team fills all the routes and provides Operators with timely instructions and responses. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Compensation
  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $60,000 – Maximum $70,000.
Benefits include:
  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervises daily activities of all operators and coordinates the activities of supervisors and dispatch personnel.
  • Oversees scheduling of operators, monitors operations and coordinates delivery of service with superiors.
  • Oversee road service and trip performance measures, i.e. route start time, on-time performance, incidents.
  • Works closely with the maintenance department to ensure that all operation service requirements are met.
  • Assists in accident/incident investigation, including any needed on-site assistance and support to safety and training personnel.
  • Respond to customer and driver questions and concerns about no shows, cancellations, and missed trips.
  • Makes hiring decisions for authorized roles; evaluates the work performance of staff; ensures the timely and efficient completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Manage vehicle operator emergency situations & escalated calls.
  • Supervise staff on weekends and evenings.
  • Manage department reports and other communication tools.
  • Overseeing and providing training to personnel performing dispatch duties.
  • Develops Operations department budget.
  • Track, compile and analyze performance; handle interdepartmental issues; resolve employee issues and grievances; improve processes and route scheduling.
  • Support employees and drivers with internal and external requests.
  • Coordinates with the safety and training department to ensure all safety goals and directives are met.
  • Prioritize calls based on importance and urgency.
  • Assist with developing and communicating standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains contact with drivers to communicate updates, delays, or special instructions.
  • May operate a vehicle in revenue service, if necessary.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger endorsement and Air brake endorsement required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of public transportation supervisory experience required
  • Previous experience with paratransit dispatching software & radio dispatch preferred or road supervision preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of transit system regulations and operations
  • Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and drive results.
  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively with labor; may include labor grievances and negotiations
  • High level of problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address service concerns proactively.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors including frequent walks for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
