About the roleThe Operations Sort Lead oversees daily sort activities within a last-mile delivery station, ensuring packages are accurately sorted and staged for driver dispatch. This role will support a team of warehouse associates, supports on-time route departures, and maintains safety, quality, and productivity standards in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate inbound package sort operations for last-mile delivery routes
- Supervise, coach, and motivate sort associates during shift
- Ensure accurate scanning, sorting, and staging of packages by route
- Monitor sort timelines to guarantee on-time driver dispatch
- Track and report key performance metrics (sort rate, mis-sorts, dispatch timeliness)
- Communicate and collaborate with management to resolve package discrepancies, damages, and routing issues
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Collaborate with dispatchers, route planners, and driver teams
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize flow and reduce errors
- Ensure equipment is turned in and accounted for by EOD

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or last-mile delivery operations
- Prior team lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with handheld scanners and routing systems
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in early morning or late-night shifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods
