About the role

The Operations Sort Lead oversees daily sort activities within a last-mile delivery station, ensuring packages are accurately sorted and staged for driver dispatch. This role will support a team of warehouse associates, supports on-time route departures, and maintains safety, quality, and productivity standards in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate inbound package sort operations for last-mile delivery routes
  • Supervise, coach, and motivate sort associates during shift
  • Ensure accurate scanning, sorting, and staging of packages by route
  • Monitor sort timelines to guarantee on-time driver dispatch
  • Track and report key performance metrics (sort rate, mis-sorts, dispatch timeliness)
  • Communicate and collaborate with management to resolve package discrepancies, damages, and routing issues
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and company procedures
  • Collaborate with dispatchers, route planners, and driver teams
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize flow and reduce errors
  • Ensure equipment is turned in and accounted for by EOD

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or last-mile delivery operations
  • Prior team lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with handheld scanners and routing systems
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in early morning or late-night shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods
