Truck Driver CDL A Solo

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Rocky Mount, VA – offering weekly pay and benefits for a driving career you can feel good about.

• Weekly pay: $1500 guarantee for 4 weeks training; average $1730 or more per week.
• Solo Miles Pay: $0.61 per mile.
• Solo Stops Pay: $31.00 per stop.
• Jobsite Deliveries: $50.00 per stop.
• Per Diem Pay: $65.00 per night for 3‑5 layovers/week.
• Paid training.
• Schedule:
  
  varies, 34‑hour reset at home.
• Start time: varies.

• Deliver SOLO to Eastern Region/Some Midwest.
• Route:
  Regional with 3‑5 layovers/week.
• Tractor type: sleepers.
• Trailer type: 53' Dry Van.
• Freight: touch – windows & doors.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements.
• Class A truck driving experience: 9 months within past 3 years, OR 2 years within last 5 years, OR 5 years within last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

• Ensuring compliance with federal and/or state laws, regulations, and or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards; maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
