Domestic Coordinator | Atlanta, GA | Salary: $60,000
Support daily domestic freight operations by coordinating shipments, managing carrier relationships, tracking freight movement, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to customers. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.
The candidate will have experience working with U.S. domestic transportation networks, including truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), expedited, and intermodal freight, and understands the importance of proactive communication and operational accuracy.

- Coordinate and manage domestic freight shipments from pickup through final delivery.
- Arrange transportation with approved carriers, including truckload, LTL, expedited, and specialized service providers.
- Obtain and negotiate carrier rates while ensuring cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Monitor shipment status, resolve delays, and proactively communicate updates to customers and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, documentation, and tracking information within transportation management systems (TMS).
- Communicate with carriers, drivers, customers, and internal departments to ensure smooth freight execution.
- Manage appointment scheduling, delivery requirements, and special handling instructions.
- Review freight documentation, including bills of lading (BOLs), proof of delivery (PODs), and accessorial charges.
- Assist with freight claims, billing discrepancies, and operational issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and customers.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve service quality, efficiency, and profitability.
- 2+ years of experience in domestic freight forwarding, third-party logistics (3PL), transportation, or brokerage operations.
- Strong understanding of U.S. domestic freight markets and transportation processes.
- Experience coordinating FTL, LTL, expedited, or time-sensitive shipments preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and manage a high volume of shipments in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and freight platforms preferred.
