Position OverviewThe Freight Forwarder Air Import Automotive is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient importation of goods by air, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination. This role involves coordinating with airlines, customs agents, trucking companies, and customers, and requires strong organizational and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities- Manage the importation of goods by air, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination.
- Communicate with airlines, customs agents, trucking companies, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Track shipments and provide updates to customers.
- Prepare and submit required documentation for customs clearance (e.g., commercial invoices, bills of lading, other relevant paperwork).
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and other relevant regulations.
- Manage relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer service.
- Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field.
- Experience in air imports is highly desirable.
- Mathematical skills: ability to perform basic calculations such as costs and rates.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of air freight logistics, customs regulations, and trade laws.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software systems.
Expected base pay range: $22.50 – $26.50 per hour. Actual compensation is determined based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
