Class A CDL Truck Driver – Rocky Mount, VA

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Rocky Mount, VA. This position offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a rewarding driving career.

• Weekly guarantee: $1500 for first 4 weeks
• Solo miles: $0.61 per mile
• Solo stops: $31 per stop
• Jobsite deliveries: $50 per stop
• Per diem: $65 per night (3–5 layovers per week)
• Paid training
• Schedule varies; weekly reset at home

• Solo to Eastern Region / some Midwest
• Regional route with 3–5 layovers per week
• Tractor type:
  Sleeper
• Trailer: 53' dry van
• Freight: touch – windows & doors

• Medical, dental & vision after 30 days
• 80 hours PTO in first year, use or get paid for it
• Uniforms, cell phone & boot allowance provided
• Drivers have safety decision authority; job protection

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass Ryder drug test
• Pass background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from last 3 years)
• Pass DOT physical
• Pass Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements
• Class A experience: 9 months in last 3 years, OR 2 years in last 5 years, OR 5 years in last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading as required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
