Transport Safety Manager

Job Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the daily employee shuttle operation, delivering employee shuttle passengers to the assigned airport area in accordance with passenger specifications, and running in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The Safety Manager will oversee and coordinate team activities to create a safe, reliable, efficient, and effective operation.

• Able to lead a team of CDL drivers.
• Provide safety‑related training and monthly operator re‑training to all existing employees.
• Build a relationship with the customer and attend daily morning briefings.
• Oversee and provide continuous coaching to supervisors.
• Perform post‑accident/incident reporting procedures.
• Review daily schedules for coverage to align with contract budgeted hours.
• Adjust employee overtime hours in accordance with DOT Hours of Service restrictions.
• Create reports utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Office Suite.
• Coordinate with the Safety and Compliance department for all company‑related safety assignments.
• Work in an office or field setting during a 24‑hour period.
• Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
• Verify the daily shift report, including fuel replenishment amounts, vehicle issues, driver‑job assignments, tabulation of passenger log sheets, and completion of universal worksheet.
• Supervise and coordinate team activities related to the operation.
• Coach, counsel, and mentor employees, including issuing disciplinary action as required.
• Monitor and enforce safe working conditions in accordance with regulatory requirements, Unifi policies and safety procedures, and all applicable laws.
• Promote and adhere to policies concerning safety, anti‑harassment, and equal employment opportunity.

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain credentials required as per airport, state, or customs requirements.
• Supervisory experience is required.

• Two years of relevant work experience in the busing/employee shuttle industry.
• Transportation experience.
• Valid TN CDL A or B with a P endorsement.

Must be able to frequently push, pull, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, lift up to 70 lbs and move up to 70 lbs, and constantly walk, stand, handle, grasp and reach out. May have to reach above shoulder occasionally.

You will need to have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. We operate in a shift bid environment.

Must be able to be alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment.

Enjoy the outdoors on a daily basis (sun, rain, sleet or snow!). May be exposed to a wide variety of weather conditions, jet and machinery noises, fumes, dirt and dust for extended periods.
