Delivery Driver
The Delivery Driver operates commercial trucks and vans to safely transport, pick up, and deliver heavy equipment, furniture, materials, and supplies to and from district locations and vendor sites. This position is responsible for the safe loading, securing, transportation, and unloading of equipment, including but not limited to forklifts, Bil Jax lifts, scissor lifts, backhoes, Bobcats, and pallet jacks. The Delivery Driver ensures timely deliveries, complies with all transportation safety regulations, performs routine vehicle inspections, and provides reliable support for district operations while completing other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties:
- Delivers heavy equipment, furniture, materials, and supplies to district locations in a safe and timely manner
- Plans and follows efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet scheduled delivery timelines
- Loads, unloads, secures, and transports equipment and materials using appropriate safety procedures and material handling equipment
- Operates commercial trucks and vans in accordance with federal, state, local, and district transportation regulations
- Inspects and secures equipment and cargo to ensure safe transportation and prevent damage during transit
- Completes special delivery requests, safeguards district assets, and obtains required delivery receipts and signatures
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reports maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Maintains a valid driver's license and all required driving qualifications for the position
- Complies with all district transportation policies, including random drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Supports warehouse and logistics operations by assisting with receiving, staging, inventory movement, and other operational activities as needed
- Required to have prompt, regular attendance in person and be available to work on-site during regular business hours and as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator or their representative
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of commercial driving practices, vehicle operation, and applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations
- Knowledge of safe loading, unloading, securing, and transporting of heavy equipment, furniture, and materials
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection, preventive maintenance, and safe operating procedures
- Skill in operating commercial trucks, vans, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Skill in reading maps, work orders, delivery schedules, and using GPS navigation systems
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver commercial vehicles while transporting oversized or heavy loads
- Ability to inspect cargo and secure loads using appropriate straps, chains, and tie-down equipment
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and move heavy materials and equipment using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, vendors, and customers while providing excellent customer service
- Ability to prioritize assignments, work independently, maintain accurate delivery records, and meet established deadlines
Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required - Certifications/Licenses:
Requires valid Georgia CDL-B commercial driver's license - Experience:
