Job Summary — Warehouse Receiver
The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for accepting, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality. This role verifies deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips, records inventory in the warehouse management system, and organizes received goods for proper storage or distribution. The Warehouse Receiver works closely with warehouse and operations staff to maintain accurate inventory levels and efficient workflow.
The position requires strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A flexible schedule is required to support varying delivery times and operational needs.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous warehouse, receiving, or inventory experience preferred
- Ability to operate or learn warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, scanners)
- Basic computer skills for inventory and receiving systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and verifying shipments
- Ability to read packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to lift and move items up to ___ lbs regularly
- Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment (temperature changes, noise, dust)
Job Skills
- Experience with inventory management or WMS systems (preferred)
- Ability to inspect shipments for damage and discrepancies
- Accurate data entry and recordkeeping
- Labeling, sorting, and staging incoming goods
- Understanding of safety procedures and warehouse best practices
- Strong communication skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Problem-solving mindset
- Ability to follow procedures and instructions closely
- Forklift certification
- Experience with cycle counts and audits
- Experience receiving high-volume shipments
- Bilingual (if helpful for your team)
