The Warehouse Associate receives and ships product into and from IGF warehouses. Receiving functions include checking in, receiving, and placing product in assigned locations. Shipping functions including pulling, checking, building, and loading orders for shipment.

Job Responsibilities

Moves material both by hand and using equipment to and from containers, delivery vehicles, loading docks, and warehouse locations

Effectively and safely operates and maintains Material Handling Equipment (MHE)

Complies with all use instructions and safety requirements
Reports maintenance issues to appropriate personnel

Effectively and responsibly uses and maintains technology hardware

Keeps the warehouse and loading dock areas clean and free of debris

Interacts with customers, vendors, and other employees politely and professionally

Contributes to the team by performing other work as necessary

Receiving Associates:

Assist with unloading inbound loads
Check the condition, quality, and expiration dates ("wholesomeness") of items; perform temperature checks on cold product; report any damages
Verify weights and record quantities; report missing/extra products
Place items in assigned locations

Shipping Associates:

"Pull," or select, product located across three temperature zones (dry/refrigerated/frozen) (shipping) and bring it to assigned loading areas
Prior to loading, verify product accuracy, check for damages, and document weights, expiration dates, and any shorted items
Arrange, or palletize, orders and load orders onto trucks
Return any mis-picked product to the correct location

Qualifications

Minimum one year of related warehouse/distribution experience
Ability to read and understand invoices and other written materials
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume receiving/shipping environment
Experience with powered/motorized warehouse equipment (manual and electric pallet jacks)
Preferred:
Previous experience in the food industry
Experience with sorting, loading, and unloading food and non-food items preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team, changing gears when required
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Dynamics, Excel, and Word) and other tech skills, including use of email, multi-line phone system, and text
On-call availability in emergency situations preferred
Bilingual communications skills (English and Spanish) preferred

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to access and navigate every department within the organization
Must be able to bend, lift (at least 55 lb.), stretch, and climb (including ladders)
Must be able to sustain prolonged periods of standing and walking
Must be able to work across temperature zones (dry/refrigerated/frozen)
Must be able to work at heights up to 60 feet using ladders, lifts, and MHE; must be able and willing to operate equipment as needed
Requires bending, sitting, standing, walking, use of hands, arms, legs, eyes, and voice
