specific license or certification required: must be able to obtain, and maintain, a valid georgia commercial driver's license (cdl) including appropriate endorsement(s) within 6 months of employment in this position.

examination:
the examination will consist of a review of education and experience, accomplished by analysis of the application. Application must document that the applicant possesses the minimum knowledge, skills, education and experience as listed to be rated as eligible. If selected, an official, accredited college transcript is required, at time of employment, for all degrees/course work used to qualify for this position.

purpose of classification:
the purpose of this classification is to provide assistance with the handling, stocking, physical inventory, and delivery of supplies and materials. This series is distinguished from the purchasing series by its focus on the warehousing, control, and release of equipment, materials, and supplies.
essential functions:
the following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
loads, unloads, receives stocks, and stores parts, supplies, and materials.
conducts physical inventory; places decals on items; records identification numbers.
delivers and retrieves supplies and materials and maintains records of deliveries.
operates a county vehicle to deliver supplies and materials to various site locations.
maintains assigned storeroom, warehouse, and loading dock in a clean and orderly manner.
assists with placing orders and completing receiving documentation as required.
responds to customer questions and resolves problems as required.
additional functions:
assists office personnel with answering incoming calls when needed.
performs other related duties as required.
