Warehouse Team Lead-1st Shift

Job Description

The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining safety and quality standards. This role leads, trains warehouse employees, and ensures inventory accuracy while adhering to safety and operational standards.

• Master operation of all warehouse equipment
• Oversee receiving and shipping operations
• Perform advanced BC tasks, such as posting inventory, making adjustments, and tracking product flow
• Communicate via email with updates and responses
• Lead and train associate's in operations and safety practices
• Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure smooth operations
• Conduct huddles, enforce safety standards, and lead safety initiatives
• Assist with staffing and scheduling, serving as a backup for all lower‑level roles
• Ensure proper handling and storage of food products to maintain quality and prevent contamination
• Adhere to food safety regulations and warehouse sanitation protocols (e.g., HACCP, GMP)
• Coordinate with other departments (Production, Purchasing, Transportation) to ensure on‑time order fulfillment
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Extensive experience in warehouse operations and inventory systems
• Proven leadership and team development skills
• Advanced equipment certifications and strong understanding of WMS/BC software
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Previous experience operating all forklifts in a food manufacturing or distribution environment is a plus
• Strong work ethic, teamwork, and attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of food safety regulations (GMP, HACCP) is preferred
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime

• Ability to identify problems and find solutions

• Exposure to varying temperatures depending on warehouse conditions
• Cold and wet environment with temperatures ranging from 35 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit
• Must adhere to safety standards, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Standard hazards associated with persons and equipment in motion in a warehouse

• Ability to read, write, see, hear, and speak clearly to ensure accurate documentation and effective communication
• Ability to bend, squat, stoop, reach, turn, and move around in a fast‑paced environment as needed to complete job tasks
• Employee must frequently stand and walk; may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
