OVERVIEW

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing sugar warehousing operations on a per shift basis. The supervisor manages a workforce of approximately 30-40 union hourly employees and directs all activities of receiving, warehousing, and shipment of products while ensuring effective planning and implementation of safe operating procedures, GMPs, and regulatory compliance.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure production/packaging/palletizing lines meet production standards.
  • Overall responsibility for product shipping by truck.
  • Optimize facility layout and inventory management.
  • Monitor performance and report results.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Manage departmental budgeting.
  • Maintain audit-ready Warehousing and Shipping areas.
WORK EXPERIENCES
  • Coordinate on-shift operations with Process, Maintenance, and Packaging superintendents through regular communication.
  • Coordinate equipment set-up, start-up, operation, and shutdown in a 24/7 environment while maintaining compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Serve as an effective steward of company resources, including financial, physical, and proprietary knowledge.
  • Meet and exceed customer needs through safe, reliable, production‑oriented, and high‑quality customer service.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Lead the Warehouse Department in continuous improvement processes for the assigned shift.
  • Develop supervisory and hourly personnel to ensure optimum labor use for each shift.
  • Evaluate employee performance.
  • Handle employee and labor relations on the assigned shift within the limits of the contract and established guidelines.
  • Assist with creation and revisions to SOPs, WIs, and WAs.
  • Collect, review, resolve discrepancies, and publish production data for earnings, labor efficiency, scrap, and material usage.
  • Ensure employee health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Responsible for training, safety, housekeeping, sanitation, and equipment maintenance within assigned areas.
  • Walk the warehouse throughout the shift.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years leading a warehousing operation in a manufacturing environment with a BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university, or
  • 5+ years leading a warehousing operation with a high school diploma or GED.
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES
  • Prior union experience required.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train employees in a team‑based environment.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Industrial food processing experience preferred.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is required.

PAY RANGE

$67,000 to $124,000. The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on qualifications and prior experience.
