Maintenance Planner
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for working with maintenance leadership and operational scheduling, to develop short- and long-term maintenance schedules outlining what maintenance work will be done at the facility. They will also review all work orders in Parts+ that require planning, decide whether a field check is required, and assemble a job plan that includes any specialty service needs, a bill of materials and all necessary permits.
In addition, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for reviewing job estimates versus actual and adjusting as needed to plan the job. This position will also lead safety and environmental compliance for the hourly maintenance staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Update PM's in coordination with Maintenance Technicians to ensure they are accurate and provide the highest probability of identifying issues and preventing unplanned downtime
- Identify all work orders that require formal planning.
- Decide if a field check is required.
- Field check when necessary.
- Retrieves the existing plan if available or identifies the job steps and sequence for those work orders that do not have an existing Job Plan.
- Reviews the work orders to identify any special service requirements.
- Reviews the work orders to identify and material requirements.
- Works with purchasing department and enters material requests
- Identify the work orders that require permits.
- Review the work orders to identify repeating task opportunities, consolidates them and enters them into Parts+ as a task.
- Reviews all work orders and lists them in either the schedule or the planned backlog.
- Review all job plans for accuracy and adjusts as needed.
- Assist Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor in prioritizing Maintenance work.
- Create a weekly Maintenance work schedule
- Align with operations managers, maintenance & facilities manager, and maintenance supervisor on the weekly top priorities.
- Conduct "After" PM feedback on discoveries found during PM and corrective WO's generated
- Ensure that Scheduled WO's, OEM PM's are properly kitted.
- Update Asset information in Parts+ as needed.
- Track and report PM compliance
- Track and report weekly schedule compliance
- Embrace safety culture and drive to zero injuries within the plant.
- Ensure compliance within the plant for all applicable laws, regulations, and safety policies.
- Lead by example in driving safety performance.
- Ensure safety work orders receive parts and are scheduled in timely manner
- Actively participate in personal safety performance measures.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, reliability, or supervision.
- Experience with CMMS/EAM systems such as Parts+, SAP, Maximo, Fiix, MP2, or similar computerized maintenance management software.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices, including PM optimization, job planning, and work order management.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and OEM specifications.
- Experience planning maintenance work for industrial equipment, including identifying labor, materials, tools, permits, contractors, and safety requirements.
- Working knowledge of maintenance storeroom and spare parts management, including material requisitioning, kitting, and coordination with purchasing departments.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to coordinate effectively between maintenance, operations, engineering, purchasing, and safety teams.
- Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance, including knowledge of LOTO, confined space, hot work permits, and other industrial safety practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for tracking KPIs such as PM compliance, schedule compliance, backlog management, and maintenance reporting.
