Position: Housekeeper | Full Time

Overview

8203 Meadowbridge Road, Mechanicsville, Virginia 23116

The Housekeeper shall be responsible for cleaning common living areas and resident apartments in the community. Shift: full-time, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee cleaning of the entire facility, with emphasis on common areas and apartment bathrooms.
  • Complete maintenance request reports when needed.
  • Report deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to the housekeeping supervisor.
  • Operate laundry equipment when needed.
  • Report inadequate quantities of all supplies needed to perform duties to the housekeeping supervisor.
  • Use only approved cleaning products and ensure that all cleaning supplies are properly stored at all times.
  • Clean office areas when assigned.
  • Dust and clean all window blinds in the community; dust all furniture, bookshelves, etc., in resident apartments and common areas.
  • Vacuum common areas and resident apartments.
  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas and resident bathrooms, and clean apartments at resident move-out.
  • Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
  • Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Follow all policies regarding release of resident information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Housekeeping experience highly desired.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to complete assignments thoroughly and on time.
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team.
  • Polite and courteous to all residents, visitors, co-workers, and management team.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet.
  • Must wear designated uniform during work hours and maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
