Androscoggin County is seeking a qualified, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time Custodian for the County Building.
The Custodian is responsible for cleaning office areas and restrooms, clearing walkways, plowing, outside landscaping, minor maintenance, and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that the county building is maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. Additional duties may be assigned by the Facilities Director.
Pay Range: $18.60 – $20.33 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week with on‑call availability

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge, Ability and
Skills:
Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment;
Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System;
Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products;
Ability to work under little supervision;
Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors;
Honest, trustworthy and respectful;
Cultural awareness and sensitivity;
Demonstrate flexibility and sound work ethics.

Constantly (50%-80% of the time) perform the following physical activities:
Constant need to be on feet;
Bend/stoop/squat/kneel while performing routine maintenance/repairs;
Climb stairs as departments are located on multiple floors;
Push and pull when moving equipment, appliances and opening/closing doors, etc.;
Reach above shoulders while performing routine maintenance/repairs stocking, etc.;
Finger dexterity, grasp/grip/tuning, writing typing;
Lifting/carrying supplies, replacement parts, ladders, etc.:
Between 75-750 lbs.—Occasional need (1%-5% of the time);
Between 25-75 lbs.—Constant need (25%-50% of the time);
Between 1-25 lbs.—Constant need (66%-100% of the time).
