Job Description
The Sr Maintenance Coordinator will report to the Maintenance Manager with a dotted line to the Continuous Improvement Manager. The role focuses on improving maintenance workforce productivity, effectiveness, and quality by preventing delays through preventive maintenance planning and scheduling, and coordinating maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access. The coordinator will prepare management reports, track and monitor costs, and identify variance to budgeted plans.
This is a day‑shift position (6:00 am – 2:00 pm).
- Perform audits of preventive maintenance activities across production to verify completion, accuracy, and adherence to established standards.
- Conduct floor-level verification to confirm maintenance work is completed as documented and aligns with standard procedures and safety requirements.
- Review work orders, schedules, and maintenance records within CMMS systems to identify missed preventive maintenance, incomplete documentation, and execution inconsistencies.
- Participate with continuous‑improvement teams on projects related to proactive maintenance plans.
- Document audit findings, track downtime trends, repeat equipment issues, and preventive‑maintenance compliance, and communicate observations to maintenance and continuous‑improvement leadership.
- Support implementation of corrective actions and process improvements aimed at increasing equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and minimizing scrap and rework.
- Develop preventive‑maintenance time standards by observing, collecting data, analyzing results, and communicating time standards for each type of preventive maintenance.
- Develop preventive‑maintenance and standard job plans.
- Coordinate MRO supply‑chain activities: stock management, purchase requisitions, stock reservations, pick ticket creation, and kitting/staging of job material requirements.
- Coordinate with operations, purchasing, materials, maintenance personnel, and maintenance management.
- Manage rebuild parts program.
- Maintain a solid understanding of customer expectations and deliverables, ensuring awareness of the impact of failure or poor quality costs.
- Utilize maintenance strategies to eliminate failures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CMMS.
- Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) a plus, but not required.
- Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude.
- Previous supervisory experience desirable.
- Effective oral and written communication and people‑management skills.
- Demonstrated ability for independent decision‑making.
- Must be flexible and responsive to business needs.
- Regular walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing, and bending at waist.
- Frequent standing on hard surfaces for long periods; occasional climbing or balancing.
- Close, color, peripheral, and depth vision required.
- Lifting and moving materials and equipment up to 90 pounds, with proper equipment or assistance.
- Exposure to fluctuating temperatures within the work facility.
The position is performed in a non‑air‑conditioned environment with potential exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise. Work occurs near powered industrial trucks, equipment, and moving mechanical parts. Personal protective equipment and adherence to all facility environmental, safety, and health rules and requirements are mandatory.
Additional InformationThe US base salary range for this full‑time position is $27–$33 per hour, plus bonus and medical, dental, and vision benefits starting day 1, 401(k), and PTO. Individual pay is determined by location and additional factors such as experience and education. Full‑time is defined as regularly working 30 + hours per week.
