Campus Housekeeper

First Presbyterian Day School (FPD) is a 3K-12th grade Christ-centered, college preparatory independent school located in Macon, Georgia which exists to educate and equip children to change the world for God’s glory.

Help in the daily operations of the housekeeping staff of First Presbyterian Day School, to provide a safe, clean, beautiful, and operationally sound campus for students, faculty, and staff. Responsible for maintaining housekeeping cleanliness and event set-up during all seasons. Ultimately, this role is responsible for being part of a team that ensures the campus facilities are maintained in an excellent manner that appropriately represents the school’s mission to educate and equip children to change the world for God’s glory.

• May perform any combination of light cleaning duties to maintain the field houses and campus buildings in a clean and orderly manner as designated by the Housekeeping Director.
• Emptying wastebaskets and transporting other trash and waste to disposal areas.
• Vacuuming rugs & carpets
• Sweeping and scrubbing floors using brooms or mops.
• Dusting and polishing furniture.
• Cleaning Restrooms
• Cleaning desks, and tables, and wiping down all surfaces.
• General clean-up after FPD events to include trash/debris pick up, mopping, vacuuming, etc.
• Reviewing and/or inspecting work for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.

• Must be 18 years of age.
• 2 years of experience in housekeeping is preferred.
• Need to be able to work a minimum of 40 hours a week including weekends, evenings, and overtime as needed.
• Need to be able to operate a variety of equipment and tools as well as lift 75 pounds.
• Good Team player and can work well with others.
• Have a pleasant personal demeanor in working with vendors, school employees, and other FPD relationships. Maintain a friendly, courteous, and eager-to-please attitude.
• Possess a high degree of attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness.
• Hours may vary and may include weekends, evenings, and overtime.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The majority of work will be performed in school campus classrooms, event spaces, gymnasiums and grounds. The person in this role is regularly required to bend, stoop, squat, and/or stand for long periods of time and may be required to lift up to 75lbs.
