Responsibilities- Scrub, mop, wax and polish floors.
- Dust and polish furniture.
- Wash windows, woodwork, toilets, washrooms, and fixtures to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
- Inspect institutional areas to safeguard property and equipment in the building and on the premises.
- Knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used in janitorial work.
- Knowledge of precautions necessary to safeguard property and equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks in the care, cleaning and maintenance of buildings and equipment.
- Ability to use a computer for email and time entry.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions on your own.
- Ability to adjust work schedule as needed due to operational needs.
- Ability to follow work rules and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Experience and training which demonstrates a basic knowledge of building and grounds maintenance and repair.
- 13 paid holidays, 12 days of sick leave, and "3+ weeks of vacation leave" annually (vacation accrues with years of service; overtime-exempt employees receive personal leave).
- Health insurance coverage: 85-100% of employee-only premiums (annual values $11,857.68-$13,950.24 depending on salary).
