The salary range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00 depending on prior experience.

The Maintenance & Facilities Specialist supports the Aurora facility by keeping our physical infrastructure, grounds, and machinery running flawlessly. This role is a critical backbone for our daily operations, providing the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and facility upkeep required to ensure our team can deliver the Kärcher "WOW" safely and efficiently every single day.

This is how you WOW:
  • Drive Facility Uptime (MRO): Execute routine and preventative maintenance (PM) operations on all facility systems to maximize asset lifespan. Diagnose and repair physical structures (walls, doors, ceilings, flooring), and handle facility lighting from bulb changes to ballast troubleshooting.
  • Master Industrial Assembly & Fabrication: Perform carpentry and assembly tasks, including building, modifying, and tearing down industrial racking systems. Conduct minor welding and fabrication to repair facility assets, and support senior technicians with complex conveyor repair projects.
  • Maintain Mobile & Mechanical Power: Manage maintenance and inspections for all mobile equipment, including forklift battery checks and minor forklift repairs. Conduct routine generator maintenance and troubleshoot HVAC components like fans to keep the facility comfortable and operational.
  • Champion Safety & Electrical Compliance: Execute minor electrical installations, rewiring, and repairs in strict compliance with safety codes. Inspect fire suppression components (sprinklers, extinguishers) and ensure the entire building adheres to safety regulations.
  • Organize Inventory & Operations: Maintain meticulous maintenance records (work orders, PM logs) and initiate requisitions for tools, parts, and supplies. Support internal teams with office moves, equipment repositioning, and keep our presence sharp by managing light landscaping and minor custodial upkeep.

  • Academic Foundation: An Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or technical school, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant

    Experience:

    Two to four years of hands‑on facilities maintenance experience, with a proven track record of troubleshooting and repairing electrical circuitry.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Specialized knowledge in forklift repair, facility electrical systems, and the safe operation of standard hand/power tools and heavy equipment.
  • Problem‑Solving & Blueprint Literacy: Excellent ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This role requires close/distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. You will frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, occasionally near moving mechanical parts, within a moderate noise environment.
