Maintenance Supervisor – Affordable Housing Community (Aurora, IL)
A well-established property management company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to support a busy Section 8 apartment community in Aurora, IL.
Position OverviewThe Maintenance Supervisor will oversee all property maintenance operations, ensuring the community is safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently. This role is hands‑on and includes supervising maintenance staff, coordinating work orders, and managing preventative maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, train, and support on‑site maintenance team members
- Complete and assign work orders, unit turns, and preventative maintenance
- Ensure all building systems and equipment are functioning properly
- Maintain compliance with HUD/Section 8 requirements and property standards
- Oversee vendor scheduling, project timelines, and maintenance budgets
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed
- Previous maintenance lead or supervisor experience required
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building repairs
- Experience working in Section 8 or affordable housing communities strongly preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
