2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Creative Contract Packaging in Rockford, IL is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to keep our contract packaging lines running safely and reliably. In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues on packaging and production equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support quick changeovers to meet customer deadlines. You'll work closely with production teams in a quality-focused, team-oriented environment, contributing to efficient operations, continuous improvement, and on-time delivery for a variety of manufacturing clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and repair on packaging and production equipment during 2nd shift to minimize downtime.
• Complete preventive maintenance on conveyors, fillers, sealers, and related machinery per schedule.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues using meters, tools, and manuals.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Document work performed in maintenance logs or CMMS and communicate status to supervisors and production leads.
• Assist with equipment changeovers, setups, and minor improvements to increase reliability.
• Collaborate with production teams to prioritize repairs and support on time delivery for customers.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending fixes.
