Position: Building Maintenance Mgr.

Summary

Responsible for the overall property and equipment management of the Atlanta Distribution Center. Coordinates facilities, building, and equipment maintenance needs by working with managers, contractors, vendors, and service partners to maintain quality in a cost‑effective fashion. Initiates planning and building programs that support preventive and predictive maintenance, plans and executes projects to support building operations, and manages and directs the maintenance and custodial workforce to support the goals and initiatives of the Distribution Center and the Company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain the building and its components by applying preventive and predictive maintenance techniques to maximize the useful life of the facility.
  • Assure maximum performance of conveyor systems with internal maintenance aimed at monthly, quarterly, and annual programs.
  • Maximize the use of Regional and National McLane contracts with suppliers and service providers to leverage cost savings for the company.
  • Ensure facility and building are in compliance with all government regulations.
  • Maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE) through maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate and perform painting, building repairs, and basic woodworking to keep furnishings and warehouse clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement savings initiatives, service enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Perform and direct workers engaged in ground maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet and Safety Manager to assure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances related to the operation of the facilities.
  • Participate in employee recognition programs to enhance morale and engagement.
  • Maintain a recurrent role in the monthly safety program to increase safety awareness and adherence within the Distribution Center.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Coordinate all monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections of the facilities, including conveyor, alarm systems, and fire alarm.
  • Confere with other members of management to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Coordinate activities of outside contractors used for maintenance and repair of building and surroundings.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies needed and utilized within the Distribution Center.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Create, update, and complete work orders using a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Maintain conveyor parts inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, Atlanta.

  • Directly supervise three employees in the Building Maintenance Division.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Interview, hire, and train teammates; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline teammates; address complaints and resolve problems.
