PurposeProvide semi-skilled and installer helper level installation of Telecommunications cabling for the University of Texas ase describe the Preferred Qualifications that you would like your UTemp to have:
Experience installing inside plant communications cabling and wireless access points. Experience in commercial construction work.
- Install Telecom cabling in new and existing structures in enclosed and cramped spaces or rate mechanical and electrical equipment used in the installation of cabling in close proximity to high voltage and high pressure steam pipes.
- Complete Reports of time, materials, and other necessary items required for the assigned tasks. Set up and dismantle equipment. Operate a UT vehicle.
- High School graduate or GED.
- Work constructively as a team member.
- Exercise good safety habits.
- Experience installing inside plant communications cabling and wireless access points. Experience in commercial construction work.

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Working Conditions- Attire:
Jeans. - Jeans, work shirt, polo or button up with long pants (no shorts), closed-toe shoes or work boots, steel-toe preferred.

- The work hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
