This position is 20 hours per week, midday Monday through Friday

To clean and care for school cafeteria (and other areas as needed) during and around lunch times.

To provide skills for cleaning and housekeeping duties in school buildings and food service units. Responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and housekeeping tasks in accordance with established work routines. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors. Vacuums and cleans rugs. Scrubs, cleans and polishes lavatories, fixtures and mirrors. Replenishes lavatory supplies. Carries out and disposes of garbage and trash.

Washes and dries dishes and cooking utensils. Cleans tables of soiled dishes. Performs related duties as required. May move and rearrange furniture. May carry baggage and other heavy objects. Assist in setting up cafeteria table service areas and clean‑up and removal of set‑ups.

Experience following basic work instructions. Must be willing to be fingerprinted and pass a background check.

High school diploma or GED. Experience in a food service establishment. Demonstrate leadership and team work. Demonstrate ability to receive, respond, and follow through with written and oral UTES Food policies, procedures and work related instructions from supervisors, customers, and co‑workers. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Professional demeanor.

$15.00/hour + depending on qualifications

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
