We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a part‑time Building Attendant II for the University Unions, Dobie Center.
Responsibilities- Ensure the area immediately outside the facility remains neat and clean.
- Assist with floor care, including shampooing carpets, scrubbing floors and stripping and finishing floors.
- Clean, stock and maintain the male and female restrooms.
- Assist with room set‑ups and breakdowns for special events.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and remove trash throughout the facility.
- Follow job requirements and direction from building supervisors.
- Use proper cleaning materials, correctly operate janitorial equipment and adhere to required safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned by the building supervisors.
Experience in any of the following fields: custodial, environmental services, hospitality, warehouse, production, or facilities maintenance. Ability to follow basic work instructions.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications- High school graduation or GED.
- Six months or more experience in any of the above listed fields.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with supervisors and peer group in a timely and effective manner.
- Experience using industrial‑sized custodial equipment.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, written instructions, product labels and instructions, and other written job materials.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to be an effective team member.
$17.41 per hour.
Working Conditions- Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment provided.
- May work in all weather conditions.
- May work around chemical fumes.
- May work around chemicals.
- Climbing of stairs.
- Climbing of ladders.
- Lifting and moving of heavy items.
- Resume.
- Three work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor, current or former.
Final candidate will be required to pass a background check prior to starting employment. The candidate must also pass a functional employment test. The purpose of the test is to determine whether the individual possesses the ability to perform the required job functions safely and effectively.
