Ensure guest satisfaction through properly maintained property, guest rooms, public areas and by responding promptly and efficiently to guest complaints and concerns. Know all fire and safety rules, regulations and policies. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs as necessary in accordance with hotel standards.
Essential Duties & FunctionsMaintain, repair and troubleshoot all manageable mechanical operations and equipment including the following areas:
- Electrical: switches, lamps/ballasts, electrical receptacles, etc.
- Plumbing: fixtures repair and replacement, pvc/cu pipe, drain clearing and repair, water heater, etc.
- Carpentry: drywall, wallpaper, painting, caulking, tile repair and replacement windows, doors, locks, furniture repair, etc.
- Mechanical: equipment maintenance (washer, dryer, vacuum cleaners, plaza gates et al.)
- Other general repairs as necessary
- Respond to and complete all work orders promptly, closing them out after completion.
- Be available on call at any time, including weekends and holidays.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule and report daily to the Department of Engineering.
- Perform daily building/room audits.
- Check all exterior & public area lighting, signage, parking lot lights, entrance signs, corridor, lobby and elevator lights daily.
- Maintain proper inventory levels.
- Help maintain overall appearance of hotel public spaces and hallways.
- Respond to ALICE and other customer or staff reports of non-functioning equipment immediately.
- Paint and touch up all areas of the hotel and maintain guest rooms to perfect condition.
- Maintain rooms in operating condition by performing repairs as needed.
- Have a thorough understanding of fire alarm procedures and other emergencies.
- Attend required meetings and safety drill sessions.
- Report unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately.
- Monitor fire panels and any work conducted on property by Impact Fire Company.
- Maintain equipment in proper working conditions.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Ensure third‑party vendors check‑in with front desk, monitor access, and keep areas secure after departure.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
- Display courteous behavior with guests and teammates.
- Report any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure hotel equipment is in proper working condition.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisor.
- Comfortable using devices to communicate and complete checklists (i.e., Alice system).
- Standing/Walking constantly; stair, tile, rubber, etc.
- Crouching, stooping, reaching, twisting, turning, climbing, crawling/kneeling, handling/grasping, balancing, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying typical weights ranging from 5 to 150 lbs.
- All interior areas of the hotel.
- Exterior areas with weather exposure.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals in a controlled environment.
- Maintenance/engineering experience required in a hotel or related field.
- Ability to work safely with un‑energized circuits from 120v to 480v.
- Proven organization and time‑management skills.
- Guest focused, optimistic, self‑disciplined, self‑starter.
- Problem solver, self‑motivated, willing to learn new skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written and oral instructions.
- Multitask‑oriented; able to overcome unexpected obstacles.

- Speak and write in language understood by manager/supervisor.
- Communicate with guests, associates, management.
- Follow directions from hotel and housekeeping management.
