Responsibilities
Job Summary:
As a Total Store Sanitation Representative, you'll maintain cleanliness and safety for an entire store, inside and out, while making our customers feel welcome.
- Sanitation / Maintenance:
Maintain the store’s cleanliness and safety with a sense of urgency. Tasks include floors, windows, break rooms, and restrooms; maintaining department hand wash sinks (paper towels, soap, sanitizer); cleaning and picking up trash and debris from flower beds and yard around the store; using the H-E-B chemical program and correctly organizing and maintaining stock in the maintenance room; emptying and cleaning trash receptacles throughout the store and each department;
ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are achieved by following SOPs; communicating maintenance needs, problems, or solutions to store leaders. - Customer Service:
Work with and around customers; attend to their needs; assist customers in locating product; perform all duties of a Customer Service Assistant (CSA) when needed.
- Age: 18+
- Knowledge: OSHA guidelines, sacking skills, initiative to take on tasks, ability to prioritize competing tasks, customer-service orientation, willingness to do what needs to be done, ability to work with customers and meet their needs.
- Education:
HS diploma, GED, or equivalent. - Licenses/Certifications:
Completion of Company Orientation, In-store Orientation, Basics of Safety, Annual Food Handler, basic HAZMAT/Chemical Safety certifications – upon hire. - Physical Demands &
Working Conditions:
Constantly walk, reach at waist, grasp, push/pull with arms; frequently bend; occasionally sit, stand, reach overhead, shoulder, knee, floor; stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, climb ladders, pivot, twist, pinch, perform fine‑motor movements; occasionally be exposed to cold, ambient temperatures, loud noise, and wet conditions. Must be able to lift 50lb and manage >50lb. Lifting schedule:
Constantly 5.5+ hours per 8‑hour day;
Frequently 2.5–5.5 hours;
Occasionally 0–2.5 hours. - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
