School Custodian Purpose

To clean and care for school cafeteria (and other areas as needed) during and around lunch times.

• Perform a variety of cleaning and housekeeping tasks in accordance with established work routines.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
• Vacuum and clean rugs.
• Scrub, clean, and polish lavatories, fixtures and mirrors.
• Replenish lavatory supplies.
• Carry out and dispose of garbage and trash.
• Wash and dry dishes and cooking utensils.
• Clean tables of soiled dishes.
• Assist in setting up cafeteria table service areas and clean‑up and removal of set‑ups.
• Move and rearrange furniture, carry baggage or other heavy objects as needed.
• Perform related duties as required.

• Experience following basic work instructions.
• Willingness to be fingerprinted and pass a background check.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in a food service establishment.
• Leadership and teamwork skills.
• Ability to receive, respond, and follow through with written and oral UTES Food policies, procedures, and work instructions from supervisors, customers, and co‑workers.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Professional demeanor.

$15.00/hour plus depending on qualifications.

• Elementary school cafeteria.

• Monday through Friday mid-days.
