Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Building Maintenance
About the Role
As a Building Engineer at Colliers, you will ensure the safety and efficient operation of building maintenance systems. You will respond to client requests, prioritize work orders, and conduct regular inspections to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and review daily operating logs for air conditioning, fan units, graphical charts, utility meters, and general complaints.
- Handle building systems and tenant service requests efficiently and cost‑effectively.
- Assist with the annual budget and RFP process for budgeted projects.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs, including alarm testing, and ensure proper chemical treatment levels for cooling towers and boilers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with property managers, suppliers, and department leaders.
- Manage multiple priorities and reports, including inventory, records, and schedules.
- At least 3‑5 years of experience in building/property maintenance or engineering.
- Solid working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, energy management systems, and other building mechanical equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Working knowledge of work order and preventive maintenance software systems.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Flexibility to be on‑call for after‑hours or weekend emergency requests.
