Purpose:
This intern will organize trash clean-ups of Waller Creek in which volunteers remove trash from the on-campus sections of Waller Creek. They will coordinate with student, staff, and faculty organizations to schedule work events and ensure safety.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and lead Waller Creek clean-up events.
- Coordinate with Environmental Health and Services to ensure safety at cleanups.
- Record data related to the creek cleanups and report it to Landscape Services and EHS.
- Explore new partnerships with organizations and departments on campus to support and promote Waller Creek cleanups.
- Assist the Native Plant Intern when needed.
Sustainability Studies, Geography, Environmental Science, and Natural Science majors.
Driving RequiredThis job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).
