HowYou Will Make An Impact Lead Maintenance Operations
- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to Maintenance Technicians across assigned locations.
- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of work.
- Conduct regular site visits to evaluate facility conditions and identify maintenance needs.
- Support branch leadership in addressing facility concerns and operational priorities.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and service excellence.
- Monitor maintenance requests and work order systems to ensure timely and effective completion.
- Oversee preventative maintenance programs for facilities, equipment, and building systems.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving complex facility issues.
- Ensure maintenance records, inspections, and documentation are accurately maintained.
- Support emergency response efforts and facility-related incidents as needed.
- Monitor facility conditions and recommend repairs, replacements, and improvements.
- Coordinate vendor and contractor services as needed.
- Assist with facility improvement projects and operational initiatives.
- Ensure maintenance equipment, tools, and resources are properly maintained and utilized.
- Help protect YMCA assets through proactive maintenance planning and execution.
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Coordinate purchasing and distribution of supplies across assigned locations.
- Ensure locations have the resources needed to support safe and efficient operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectively utilize department resources.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Maintenance Technicians to strengthen performance and technical skills.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration across facilities and departments.
- Provide ongoing feedback, training, and support to promote employee growth and success.
- Assist with onboarding, scheduling, and staff development activities
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 7+ years of facility maintenance, building operations, or related experience required.
- 3+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team coordination experience preferred.
- Knowledge of facility maintenance policies, procedures, practices, and safety standards.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance systems.
- Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and work order systems.
- Ability to develop and mentor others while fostering teamwork and accountability.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and support multiple locations simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.
- Ability to travel regularly between assigned YMCA locations.
- Ability to respond to after-hours facility emergencies as needed.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency service schedules as needed.
This position requires frequent travel between YMCA locations and the ability to walk facilities, inspect building systems, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally perform hands-on maintenance activities. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, operate maintenance tools and equipment, and work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
