* 51.215. Applications will be reviewed online by the hiring department. This is a 40 hour work week. Multiple shifts depending on availability with days rotating to include some weekends. hours to be discussed with supervisor.

Purpose

Provide journey level technical skills associated with monitoring the campus wide Building Automation System (BAS) from a central campus control room. Evaluate the BAS alarms and determine a response and resolution. This position also serves as the after-hours call center for all campus maintenance issues and provides emergency dispatch of personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Monitors the campus Building Automation System (BAS) for proper operation of building mechanical systems and respond to alarm conditions.
  • Analyzes computer generated and phoned-in facility related problems, prioritizes and coordinates proper responses.
  • Handles normal and emergency phone calls as the after-hours call center. Dispatches technicians as needed. On occasion will need to be able to respond to crisis situations. Creates accurate and informative work orders.
  • Provides timely and courteous customer service, keeps supervisors up to date on daily work order status to ensure clear, concise, and necessary communication channels are maintained and customer expectations are met. Works in a professional manner. Communicates effectively with customers to understand their needs and expectations. Run reports and maintain historical logs.
  • Performs work independently from written or verbal instructions and in accordance with established operating procedures to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Analyzes operating difficulties with building systems using troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques to identify equipment related issues.
