Job Description:

Part-time, year-round position responsible for repair and maintenance of College facilities and grounds. Days vary; possible weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repairs and maintains buildings and equipment as directed.
• Performs routine electrical maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and resetting breakers.
• Performs general plumbing maintenance and repair.
• Assists in maintaining the swimming pool and fountains on the Highlands Campus.
• Operates, maintains and repairs heavy equipment and power tools as directed.
• Empties trash and garbage cans and disposes of trash and refuse.
• Assists with coverage in custodial to help with time off and athletic events.
• Moves furniture, equipment, and materials as directed.
• Assists with grounds maintenance as directed.
• Assists with College special events (set-up, clean-up, traffic control in parking lots, etc.) as needed.
• Records personal work time and quantities of materials used on specific jobs as directed.
• Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.
• Acts in accordance with local, state, and federal laws/regulations as well as College policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Educational: High school diploma or equivalency preferred.

Experiential: General maintenance experience required.

Other: Position involves moderately heavy manual work, including lifting and moving heavy equipment and supplies.

Reports To: Manager, Facilities, Maintenance and Operations

Hourly Rate: $15.00 (approx 28-30 hrs/wk)
