Job Summary

We are hiring full time and part time Janitor positions for the Avondale Elementary School District. The role involves keeping buildings clean and orderly, performing heavy cleaning duties such as floors, rugs, walls, and glass, and maintaining a safe environment for staff and students.

• Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
• Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and places furniture back in correct placement.
• Cleans assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment; sanitizes all surfaces and follows the eight‑step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
• Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs and refinishes floors; shampoos carpet.
• Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday with varying hours; flexibility for full‑time and part‑time positions.

Compensation: $15.15 per hour.

Avondale Elementary School District – 295 West Western Avenue, Avondale, AZ 85323. Openings at other locations within the district are available.

Previous janitorial experience preferred but not required.
