Position OverviewWe are seeking a Lead Technician – Food Service Equipment to oversee installation, maintenance, and technical development of food-service systems integrated into our commercial bikes and carts.
The Lead Technician will be responsible for assembling, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining food-service equipment including espresso systems, refrigeration, electrical components, plumbing systems, and mobile kitchen integrations. This role also includes supervising junior technicians, improving build processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
This is a hands‑on leadership role critical to product quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Technical & Mechanical- Install and configure food-service equipment including:
- Espresso machines and grinders
- Refrigeration units and cold storage systems
- Water systems (clean and waste tanks, pumps, heaters)
- Electrical power systems (batteries, inverters, solar integration)
- Sinks and plumbing components
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and equipment issues.
- Perform testing and quality control before delivery to customers.
- Maintain service documentation and repair logs.
- Lead and train technicians on assembly and service procedures.
- Establish technical standards and best practices.
- Coordinate workflow with production and operations teams.
- Assist engineering with prototype testing and improvements.
- Ensure builds meet:
- NSF / food safety standards (when applicable)
- Health department requirements
- Electrical safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- 3+ years experience working with Commercial food equipment OR restaurant equipment service
- Mechanical and electrical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with espresso equipment (La Marzocco, Nuova Simonelli, etc.)
- Plumbing and electrical certification.
- HVAC or refrigeration experience.
- Experience with mobile kitchens, food trucks, or vending equipment.
- Fabrication or light welding experience.
- Knowledge of battery systems or solar power integration.
