Position Description

General Summary

A Crew Lead/ Person Leading Work (PLW) oversees the production and safety of a group of employees which may include but not limited to a Welder, Welder's Helper, Crane Operator and Swamper.

Essential Job Functions

1. Regular and reliable attendance.

2. Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE.

3. Responsible for Daily Shift validations.

4. Must possess a current and valid Driver License with clean driving record and have ability to operate Bucket Truck and/or other equipment as needed.

5. Perform and fill out Pre-Trip vehicle inspection before leaving the yard.

6. Gather appropriate job permits from all crew members for each scheduled job and ensure that they have the correct information.

7. Follow and/or complete the Detailed Daily Work Plan (DDWP) and ensure crew actively participates, knows and follows each procedure.

8. Ensure the crew has the appropriate equipment, tools and supplies to complete the assigned task and have knowledge of all equipment.

9. Perform monthly tool audit of all crew members and ensure compliance of equipment (vehicle registration/ fire extinguisher).

10. Must be able to isolate and safely perform maintenance work on pumping units, and be knowledgeable in all components of unit.

11. Must complete specific KSI PLW and Customer required training.

12. Perform testing on sites and test the job site for immediate respiratory dangers and know how to read a monitor.

13. Ability to bolt-up according to torque pattern and spec.

14. Be aware of the dangers associated with hazardous atmospheres and hazards associated with using tools and equipment. Perform a job walk to identify all potential hazards around working area and take procedural actions to mitigate or eliminate if any found.

15. Coach and mentor fellow crew members in all safety processes and provide team building skills.

16. Develop a general knowledge of KSI PPM-SOPs and frequently refer to the SOP Manual.

17. Follow all KS Industries, LP safety, and customer policies and procedures.

18. Shall perform all physical and mental requirements listed.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and write in English

• Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions in English

• Ability to communicate with employees and various business partners in a professional and courteous manner

• Knowledge of Lock Out/ Tag Out process

• Knowledge of technology (iPads, cellphones etc.)

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

• Ability to comply with safe requirements for processes such as Energy Control, Working at Heights, Overhead Powerline Avoidance, etc.

• Knowledge of Stop Work Authority (SWA)

• Ability to complete training for all safety processes

• Ability to read a tape measure

• Ability to recognize and use hand and power tools

• Ability to demonstrate basic construction safety rules

• Ability to work in confined/tight spaces for long periods at a time

• Knowledge of pipe sizes and fitting as well as thickness of material required

Education and Experience

1-2 years of Pumping Unit Maintenance experience preferred.

Working Conditions: The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions.

Working Hours: Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-8's and 4-10's.
