WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The primary function of this position is to test, calibrate, install, repair and inspect monitoring and recording devices. Additional tasks include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, rebuilds on equipment, ensuring device integrity, and communicating shift activities. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime.
JOB DUTIES:
- Proficiency with instrumentation protocols such as 4‑20 mA, 0‑10 VDC, Hart Communicator, PID tuning; 3‑15 PSI I/P’s; knowledge of CCP’s.
- Coordinate electrical and instrument plans between three shifts of instrument control technicians performing maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Assist in creating and verifying spare parts inventories for plant equipment.
- Help manage and reduce repair costs.
- Ensure scheduled work assignments are completed timely and required documentation completed.
- Open, close, and complete work orders for repairs.
- Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, calibrate, and test industrial instrumentation that records, indicates, controls, and regulates level, flow, pressure, temperature, position, and water analysis.
- Troubleshoot telemetry and process controller hardware.
- Maintain knowledge of telemetry system software and hardware operations.
- Conduct periodic preventive maintenance inspections, diagnose existing or potential trouble.
- Clean, lubricate, calibrate, and adjust metering control instruments as needed.
- Plan, install, and place into service new metering controlling and recording devices; calibrate as required; extend or connect related electrical circuits when needed.
- Support calibration of test apparatus and equipment and maintain recordkeeping.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree in a related field; or four (4+) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of database software, intranet and internet software, and WMS Warehouse Management Systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office:
Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access. - Proven, reliable work history.
ADDITIONAL
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with a diverse employee population and internal/external customers professionally.
- Excellent critical‑thinking skills; ability to analyze and interpret technical journals, drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/repairs simultaneously, prioritize, and resolve challenges proactively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills, diplomacy, and tact.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume food production/manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of OSHA, GMP, FDA, USDA, and EPA regulations.
- Knowledge of JDE software.
