Maintenance Mechanic 3rd shift
Full‑time, regular, USA – CA – Bakersfield, CA.
Salary: $29.00–$33.00 per hour.
Shift: 10 pm–6:30 am (3rd shift). Travel:
None.
Location:
Bakersfield, CA. FLSA status:
Non‑Exempt.
Responsibilities:
- Test, calibrate, install, repair and inspect monitoring and recording devices.
- Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and rebuilds on instrumentation.
- Ensure integrity and operation of devices and meet performance and quality standards.
- Communicate shift activities with supervision and other shifts/departments.
- Perform preventive maintenance and recommend predictive maintenance to reduce downtime.
Job Duties:
- Use calibration protocols (4‑20 mA, 0‑10 VDC, PID tuning, etc.) and proficiency with CCPs.
- Coordinate electrical and instrument plans across shifts.
- Create and verify spare parts inventories.
- Manage repair costs.
- Complete scheduled work assignments and document as required.
- Open/close work orders for repairs.
- Maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation for level, flow, pressure, temperature, position, and water analysis.
- Troubleshoot telemetry and process controller hardware; maintain telemetry system knowledge.
- Conduct periodic preventive inspections and make adjustments.
- Install and service new metering/control devices; extend/connect circuits as needed.
- Support calibration of test apparatus and equipment and maintain records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a related field or 4+ years of related experience/training; or equivalent education/experience.
- Knowledge of database, intranet, internet software, WMS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access).
- Proven, reliable work history.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume food production/manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of OSHA, GMP, FDA, USDA, EPA regulations.
- Knowledge of JDE software.
Physical Demands:
- Walk, sit, stand, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch as required.
- Lift and/or move 50+ lbs.
- Occasional exposure to cold (34 °F) or sub‑zero temperatures.
