The Maintenance Supervisor leads plant maintenance activities to ensure production equipment, utilities, electrical systems, and automated equipment operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. This position supervises the maintenance team, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, supports production needs, and drives improvements that reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Essential Responsibilities- Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for production equipment, packaging systems, utilities, electrical systems, automation, and facility equipment.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and develop maintenance employees; assign work and provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and repairs to minimize equipment downtime and support production schedules.
- Manage preventive maintenance, CMMS work orders, maintenance records, equipment history, and critical spare parts inventory.
- Identify recurring equipment issues, coordinate root cause analysis, and implement reliability and performance improvements.
- Oversee plant utilities, including ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air, and water systems, using qualified employees, contractors, and service providers as needed.
- Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, shutdowns, repairs, and improvement projects, including contractors, schedules, and assigned budgets.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with CGWC safety, food safety, quality, GMP, LOTO, electrical safety, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Production, Quality, Safety, and other departments to prioritize maintenance needs and support continuous improvement.
- Maintain required maintenance, inspection, safety, and compliance documentation and support audits and corrective actions.
- Support plant emergencies, shutdowns, start-ups, and other operational needs as required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Strong supervisory experience - Supervise and direct a team of maintenance personnel.
- Strong knowledge of liquid filling, batching, packaging, electrical, mechanical, and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, PLC, and automation systems and interpret schematics, drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, maintenance planning, and industrial safety requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Working knowledge of industrial refrigeration and ammonia refrigeration safety/compliance requirements preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Associate degree in maintenance, electrical, mechanical, industrial technology, or related field preferred; or four (4) or more years of relevant experience/training; or an equivalent combination.
- Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or maintenance leadership experience.
- Manufacturing experience strongly preferred; food or beverage manufacturing experience preferred.
- PLC and industrial automation experience strongly preferred.
