Position: Maintenance Assistant Full-Time

Bakersfield Post Acute
Pay Range: $18.00-$18.25 per hour, based on experience

Bakersfield Post Acute is seeking a reliable and hardworking Full-Time Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The Maintenance Assistant will help ensure our facility remains safe, functional, clean, and comfortable for residents, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and equipment repairs
  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks and work orders
  • Inspect resident rooms, common areas, offices, and exterior areas for maintenance concerns
  • Assist with maintaining heating, cooling, lighting, and other facility systems
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and safety concerns
  • Ensure tools, equipment, storage rooms, and work areas remain clean and organized
  • Help maintain the facility's grounds and exterior areas
  • Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Follow proper safety procedures when using tools, chemicals, and equipment
  • Report damaged equipment, potential hazards, and major repair needs to the Maintenance Director
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records as assigned
  • Follow all facility policies and applicable state and federal regulations

Maintenance Assistant - Full-Time

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous maintenance experience preferred
  • Healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care experience is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry equipment and supplies
  • Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation if required
