Living Classrooms has an opportunity for a Facility Maintenance Engineer. The facility maintenance engineer is responsible for but not limited to the following
Job Functions:
- Conduct routine inspections of Foundation facilities and equipment to ensure all equipment is operating properly.
- Perform preventative maintenance and cleanup on all LCF properties and facilities, including:
- Regular inspection of HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and building safety equipment
- Cleaning and upkeep of common areas, offices, restrooms, and storage spaces
- Seasonal landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, leaf removal, mulching, and planting
- Snow and ice removal from walkways and entrances during winter months
- Trash and debris removal from grounds, parking lots, and outdoor spaces
- Maintenance of outdoor furniture, playgrounds, fences, and signage
- Ensure all exterior lighting and security systems are operational
- Identifying any leaks in roofs and plumbing
- Ensuring bathroom facilities are fully operational
- Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Ensure Foundation and Customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship, and polite communication.
- Assist the Manager, Facilities Engineering to ensure the proper use of company time, manpower and materials on each project.
- Must be able to understand the scope of projects and update team members as needed.
- Work alongside volunteers on the job site and knowledgeable monitor project tasks when necessary.
- Be able to climb ladders and perform work.
- Must be able to lift and carry 30+ lbs.
- High School Diploma, GED or a minimum of five (3) years’ experience in home improvement or light commercial construction or landscaping.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clear driving record and the ability to drive light hauling trucks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Drive to attain measurable results.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
